Amanda got involved in music when her family moved to Täby, Sweden. Her first music inspiration was Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous”. She remembers spending hours in front of the mirror singing along to the album. When Amanda was 6 she stated taking dance classes. Her dance teacher suggested that she try out to the musical “The Sound of Music”. After following her teacher’s advice Amanda tried out and won the role of Brigtta. The musical was her first chance to sing in public.

After performing several times in public, Amanda entered a talent competition on the Swedish TV show “Little Stars”. Amanda sang a Janet Jackson song and one the competition. Eventually, Andres Bagge, the husband of PLAY’s manager Laila Bagge, heard Amanda sing and signed her to his production company Murlyn Music. She recorded a demo with Bagge that eventually led to Amanda being the first young female pop act to be signed to Madonna’s Maverick Records.

In 2000, Amanda made her professional debut on the “Rugrats in Paris” soundtrack with the song “You Don’t Stand a Chance”. Her debut album was released in 2001. The album was produced by Swedish hitmakers BAG and Arnthor, Bloodshy, and other producers from Murlyn Music camp. Amanda co-wrote two songs on the album”Everybody Doesn’t” and “Not the One (For Me). However, “Everybody Doesn’t” was the only single to date. In the summer of 2001, Amanda opened for boybands *Nsync and O-Town.
There was a scheduled release for a second single “Can’t Stop My Love”. However, due to poor album sales, Maverick cancelled the single and dropped Amanda.

Amanda also was involved with PLAY.
